The Client
COOEC is the main contractor and installation company with end client being PTTEP, Thailand.
Nautec Disciplines
Provision of grouting services for the installation of subsea structures – Jacket leg annuli grouting.
The Scope
The scope of services included the provision of OPC type II material and NaX® Q80; the provision of offshore grouting equipment, silos, offshore laboratory and necessary consumables; the provision of qualified offshore grouting personnel; and the provision of project management including reporting, QA/QC.
The Challenges
Due to limited space on the work barge deck we were only allowed to use 4 silos. This meant that during the grouting procedure we needed to blow the OPC from the AHT vessel by air compressor to our silos which were located on the work barge.
The Services
Nautec carried out the grouting for wellhead platform WP4 as part of the installation procedure for a total of 4 platforms. Grouting of the pile sleeve annuli was carried out from the work barge using a combination of preinstalled grout lines on the platform structure and flexible grout hoses.
Client Benefit
We used planetary mixers with a screw conveyor system which allowed for better mixing. NaX® Q80 material was supplied as contingency in case we would need to set the bottom plug.
