About the Project
The first onshore grouting of a new-build Jacket Leg Can by Nautec was conducted at MCY Yard in Kuala Belait, Brunei.
Scope of Work
- Preparation of the grouting procedure and supporting project documentation for grouting works.
- Supply and delivery of NaX® Q110 grout material and binder/lubrication mix.
- Provision of three certified grouting personnel for onshore operations.
- Provision of grouting equipment including grout hoses, valves and other relevant installation equipment using primary and secondary grout inlets, couplings, nipples etc.
The final close out report (COR) containing all relevant QA/QC documents, will be submitted to the Client upon completion of the programme. The COR will include the following:
- Onsite quality monitoring reports (amount of grout mixed and pumped, temperature, start and stop of grouting operation, total consumption of grout).
- Daily reports comprising of information summarising the grouting work, progress and total consumption of grout.
- Post-grouting 14- and 28-days cube compressive strength test results.
- Certificates of completion for grout filling.
Challenges and Solutions
- The ongoing grouting operations of the jacket leg, taking place at the client’s yard, was complicated by heavy rain fall and high tides. However, the experienced grouting personnel secured the support of skilled riggers and a proficient banksman from client during critical tasks, such as lifting and mixing cementitious grout. As a result of these combined efforts, the company successfully delivered the required.
