Mr. Kevin Lay, Vice President of Subsurface and Wells Engineering at Nautec, has been awarded the prestigious 2016 SPE Regional Service Award by SPE Southern Asia Pacific Region, as an acknowledgement for his outstanding contribution in this area at regional level and has recently been nominated for international SPE Distinguished Service Award.

As Mr. Lay was unable to attend the award ceremony in person due to other work commitments, the award was presented to Mr. Tim Green, Manager, Emerging Well Technologies at Nautec, on behalf of Mr. Lay at the 2016 Asia Pacific Oil & Gas Conference and Exhibition (APOGCE) on the 25th of October 2016 in Perth, Australia.

APOGCE is SPE’s premier upstream technical conference in the Asia Pacific region, covering the broadest range of disciplines involved in exploration and production activities. The conference themed “Catching The Next Wave – Delivering Affordable Energy” served as a platform for technology dissemination, knowledge sharing and collaboration and featured keynote sessions by regional industry professionals, workshops and educational programmes along with the distinguished award ceremony.

Mr. Lay is an active volunteer member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and serves on the SPE Asia Pacific Regional Technical Advisory Committee and SPE’s Well Integrity Technical Section. He has authored/co-authored a number of technical papers, which have been presented at international conferences.
